The former Südtiroler Platz station is now part of Hauptbahnhof Wien, Vienna main train station. The U-Bahn station is being referred to as Südtiroler Platz, Südtiroler Platz – Hauptbahnhof, or Hauptbahnhof Wien.
Südtiroler Platz is a square on Wiedner Gürtel, south of Karlsplatz and west of Belvedere Gardens in Vienna.
Südtiroler Platz is also a metro station on U-Bahn line U1 and an S-Bahn station on the Stammstrecke (on the section between Wien Meidling and Rennweg). There are also several bus and tram lines at Südtiroler Platz.
Both the metro and S-Bahn station at Südtiroler Platz will be renamed to Hauptbahnhof Wien in December 2012, when the newly built Vienna Main Train Station should begin partial operation.
