Vienna Simmering Train Station (Bahnhof Wien-Simmering) is located in the eastern part of Vienna in the 11th district, Simmering, at the crossing of Simmeringer Hauptstrasse and Haugerstrasse, next to Simmering Cemetery (Simmeringer Friedhof). Simmering Station is an important public transport hub for local transport and the terminus of U-Bahn line U3. There are many S-Bahn, regional, and even long distance trains at Bahnhof Simmering.
Simmering is an industrial and residential district, located quite far from Vienna city centre and there are not many hotels close to Simmering Station. You can see the hotels map of Simmering and hotels with prices and guest review rating here:
The eastern districts of Vienna don’t have many hotels. It is best to take the U3 closer to the city centre for better selection of accommodation. The stations on U3 with many hotels, closest to Simmering are Landstrasse/Wien-Mitte (8 stops from Simmering), Stubentor (9 stops), and Stephansplatz (10 stops). The metro ride from Simmering Station takes about 15-20 minutes.
It is strongly recommended to book accommodation long in advance, as hotel capacities are very limited in Simmering. In Vienna city centre, advance booking is advisable during the peak tourist season and around holidays.
