Bahnhof Wien Ottakring (Ottakring Railway Station) is a train station in the western part of Vienna in the 16th district (Ottakring). The station serves mostly local and regional traffic, including Vienna S-Bahn trains. Ottakring is also the terminal station of U-Bahn (metro) line U3. Important streets and places near Wien Ottakring Station include Thaliastrasse, Stillfriedplatz, Maroltingergasse, and Wilheminenspital.
The number of hotels near Ottakring Station is limited, because the district is mainly residential (and also a little industrial: Ottakring district is the home to Ottakring Brewery or Julius Meinl coffee roaster). You can see the hotels marked on the map of Ottakring (as well as hotel descriptions, guest reviews, and room rates) here:
The area closest to Ottakring Train Station with solid concentration of hotels is the Gürtel (the circle road bypassing the wider centre of Vienna), especially the area near Westbahnhof, which has direct metro connection to Ottakring (5 stops on line U3, about 8 minutes). Another popular hotels district is Mariahilfer Strasse, the famous Viennese shopping street, which goes from Westbahnhof to the Imperial Palace in Inner City.
It is highly recommended to book accommodation well in advance, as hotels are often sold out (especially in areas with lower accommodation capacity like Ottakring).
