You can filter or sort the hotels by room rate, distance from Volksgarten, stars, guest review rating score, and several other parameters:
Volksgarten (which means Folk’s Garden or Public Garden or Public Park) is a large park between the Imperial Palace Hofburg and Ringstrasse in Vienna Inner City. Other landmarks around Volksgarten include Burgtheater, Rathaus (Vienna City Hall), Austrian Parliament, and Museum of Natural History. There are several squares immediately adjacent to Volksgarten: Rathausplatz, Schmerlingplatz, Heldenplatz (in front of Hofburg), and the small Josef-Meinrad-Platz (next to Burgtheater).
The area around Volksgarten is a popular hotel location, thanks to the proximity of many tourist attractions and important buildings. The hotels closest to Volksgarten tend to be in the higher part of the spectrum – mostly 4 star and 5 star hotels.
There are three U-Bahn (metro) stations within 5 minutes walk from Volksgarten: Herrengasse Station on line U3 (next to Hofburg), Volkstheater Station (interchange of lines U2 and U3 behind Museum of Natural History), and Rathaus Station on line U2 (behind Vienna City Hall). Besides the metro, there is a very frequent tram service in Ringstrasse – the tram stops closest to Volksgarten are Stadiongasse/Parlament and Dr-Karl-Renner-Ring.
It is quite hard to find very cheap hotels in this part of Vienna, because this is probably the most prestigious address in the whole city. There are several good 3 star hotels in the streets behind Vienna City Hall (e.g. Lange Gasse or Josefstädter Strasse). Many cheaper hotels can also be found in the streets behind Museum Quarter.
