Vienna is well connected by direct bus lines to many European cities (such as Prague). Most international buses which go to Vienna, including those operated by the biggest carrier, Eurolines network, terminate at the Erdberg Bus Terminal. Naturally, in Erdberg you can also find offices of bus companies, so Erdberg is the place to go when you need a bus ticket (some bus companies actually sell bus tickets online too, including the Eurolines network).
Erdberg Station is not located in the very centre of Vienna (it wouldn’t look good next to Stephansdom or Rathaus anyway). The bus terminal can be found in the 3rd district (Wien Landstrasse) next to the big highway crossing Knoten Prater. This is very convenient for the buses, as most of them don’t need to go a single kilometre outside the highways. Fortunately, Erdberg Bus Station is situated across the street from a metro station with the same name, Erdberg.
Erdberg U-Bahn station is served by line U3, which takes you directly to Stephansdom or Volkstheater in 10-15 minutes or to Westbahnhof in 20 minutes. By walking it would be about 3-4 km to get from Erdberg Bus Station the city centre (Stephansdom).
Officially, Erdberg Bus Station is called Vienna International Busterminal or VIB. Its address is Erdbergstrasse 200A, 1030 Wien.
