Eurolines bus network operates a bus service between the Bulgarian capital Sofia and Vienna. There is one bus in each direction every day the whole year (except for some holidays).
The travel time between Sofia and Vienna is about 17 hours and the buses go overnight. From Sofia the bus leaves at 16:00 and arrives to Vienna at 8:30 the next morning. From Vienna the bus departs at 20:30 and is scheduled to arrive in Sofia at 14:00 the following day.
Booking tickets online in advance is recommended (the official deadline is 24 hours prior to departure). One way ticket from Sofia to Vienna costs EUR 61 and a ticket for both ways is EUR 98. There is a 10% discount for people under 26 or over 60 years. Children under 12 pay 50% and babies without a seat can go for free with an adult.

In Sofia the buses to Vienna depart from the coach station Traffik Market in front of the central railway station.
In Vienna the buses from Sofia arrive to Erdberg bus station in the eastern part of the city. Erdberg is well connected by U-Bahn (metro) line U3 with Vienna city centre. The metro station is situated across the street from the bus terminal.
The quickest way to get from Erdberg to Vienna International Airport by public transport is to take U3 to Landstrasse – Wien Mitte and then take the City Airport Train or S-Bahn to Schwechat Airport.
